Made myself a gauge holder...

I needed a place to mount my boost gauge so I decided to build a gauge holder above the steering wheel. Its off-center so that I can still see the light for my high-beams and it doesn't block anything important. Overall, I'm pretty happy with it.

BTW, I didn't really think this was "showoff" worthy, but mods, if you want to move it, thats cool.

Hey all This may be a little gehto but I think its a pretty good find. I was driving ages ago and looked at a car with a tow bar. It had one of those chrome covers on it (over the tow bar). DING DING DING. So I took my Greedy gauge to supacheap autos (local parts store) and found the chrome covers for $1.99. Perfect fit for a 52mm gauge. You can mount to the colum however you want. Just drill a hole in the back for the wires. I used part of a egg ring to mount it. I'll take a pic in a minute and post it up.

Hey, where'd you get that idea?! lol!

Nice work, Nick! Looks great! I knew when I saw this was your post it would be good!!

Thanks Grant, sorry for not giving you credit on the idea. I got the idea from him everyone!!

I got the steering wheel and hub on ebay in 2 separate auctions. I don't remember the price, but it was pretty affordable. Just search for "Momo Tuner".

Allan- that looks good, can't wait to see how it turns out. Did you remove the flexible vinyl on that piece or just mold it in? I was thinking of doing something there, but I'm afraid of cracking because that piece is so flexible.

Thanks for the kind words everyone!

Kind of funny. I was thinking about 3 days ago of doing the same exact thing with my aftermarket boost guage.

allan, that looks like it'll be clean, however, are you keeping the boost gauge there? the boost gauge is something i'd like to monitor without having to look down that far. i'd put it higher, but know you said it's a mockup for trial, so i'm not sure if you're keeping them how they are. i was planning on doing something like that for the gauges that dont need constant monitoring.

by the way, that looks damn good, nick!

OK, now for the important question.... Who wants to make one for my 82? I'll need a double that'll mount somewhere...... I'm tempted to see if someone with some fiberglass skillz would make me something to go in place of the glovebox for all my electronics.... seeing as how I have no room anywhere else and that way it's not out in the open.... and I can lock them up.... lol.... Yeah, but anyway....... Looks nice.
