....Without my Supra -- It only made it as far as Vegas. Cliffs version: something let go somewhere at the front of the motor (gasket, seal...something), started pissing oil...limped it to Vegas from Baker, and by the time I got it to Vegas, it had the dreaded Rod Knock....I think the only thing that saved it from seizing up is that I was running Amsoil, and was replacing it with Mobil1....good thing I picked up that spare shortblock a few weeks ago...*sigh*
I was doing the math in my head last night though, and the smog sheet the guy had that I bought the car from had 188k typed in for mileage from the owner before him. At some point from that smog and the time I bought the car, a manual swap was done (along with the gauge cluster with lower mileage), so who knows how many miles were on the motor when I bought it with 132k on the clock....and I've put about 10k on the car since I've had it....so needless to say, it has over 200k on that bottom end AFAIK, so it was it's time....oh well. Tow the car from Vegas next weekend, and then I get to yank the motor out....who's down for a wrenchin' party? :biglaugh:
