Its also not totally accurate. 71s were supposed to be turbo and 70s were NAs. However, from what I remember it was something like they ran short on the 71 chassis they started just making 70 turbos too, I'm assuming thats what you've got.

sounds like he has a normal one. all supras were stamped MA70 on the firewall, but the turbo VINs have 71 in them,

both chassis are exactly the same.IIRC again. even the 86 model had a hole in the inner fender for the intercooler pipe. stuff like that :eek3dance

I heard the story about 71 bodys running short too, so they used 70 bodys to meet demand.

My bad Joe... I just went down to verify for sure that it said MA71; you were correct. It as well says MA70. Could have sworn it was 71, but I guess I was reading it somewhere else.

I really have no idea how many times this has come up or I've had to post it, heh.

There is no MA71 Chassis, they're all MA70.

MA71 is used in the VIN/Model Code to denote a Turbo model, that's it. Toyota does it all the time. AE86 GT-S models have AE88 in the VIN, AE86 Chassis, etc.

Meh, everyone is wrong on occasion. I've spent the last year trying to squash the MA70/71 myth.

Wow...Exactly one year ago to this day was the last post...sort of weird that I just now decided to search this down but hey, it shows that I search!:)

So...In some video's I've watched, they will say MA71 Power...when really, it is only MA71 by Title, but it's truly an MA70...correct?
