Yikes, south africa, huh?

Maybe you could call a large glass company in the UK or US and have it shipped... it would be expensive though.

tried that and the quoted me prices for almost half of what the car is worth :(

im weighing my options now with either going the perspex or lexan route

How bad is it?

Lexan will have to be replaced over and over depending on how much you drive. It scratches easily so it will eventually fog up and be hard to see out of.

It may or may not crack more.

Its kinda eye sore but if you can deal with it id just keep using it.

I wonder if you could fly over somewhere, Have someone with a replacement meet you at the air port, and then use the glass as your carry on and fly back?? Might be cheaper than shipping it.

A windshield as carry-on??:yikes:
I *don't* think that'll "fit easily into the overhead compartment, or under the seat in front".

Not sure, Razoe. But I can tell you that a guy just told me to make sure that when they replace the windshield on a targa,
that they should use an adhesive strip, and not glue the windshield into place. This will allow it to flex in the frame.
I have to get my windshield replaced again due to a full-length crack. Got 600 miles out of this one, windshield #3.
