i got a mk2 for free today, with brand new tires, BRAND new w58 (brand new as in bought brand new and never used) new master cyl. Nice mk2 wheels, only downside is no front fenders or bumper! Im going to the junkyard tomorow to pickup some fenders and everything else for the swap.

I have everything ready, including the sub-harness, modified 7m oil pickup, and relocation.

I got the car for free from my dad who bought it 4 years ago for the LSD pumpkin and never used it.. it has a running 5mge with 220,000 miles on the clock.. lol.

I also got new doors, door panels, dash, windows, seats and etc.

Im stealing the 7mgte out of my mk3, and putting in a 7mge/a340 back into the mk3 and giving it to my wife.

now everyones happy, and i shedded several hundred pounds off my ride!

Pictures tomorow night!

I will post pics from start to finish for reference and fun.

pics tomorow night i promise!

Im still going to build my MK3!!! im still going to do the trim removal.. Im putting a 7mge in it and down the road will get a 2jzge.. im still going to go all out on suspension and tires... just aiming for 220-250 HP.. N/A.

The MK2 is sexy but it needs help, its full of leaves, has no front bumper, hood, or front fenders.. the dash has massive cracks in 3 places, but a new replacement is in hand, door panels are shit, again, replacements in hand.. i got newer seats to put in (celica non electrical seats). i'd label it a 100$ car as is...
But thats where i step in... theres too much new stuff and new tranny and new dash + seats ETC ETC to pass this up... plus i think it would be SOOO sweet to have a 7mgte powered MK2

Pics will be up tomorow night.... ill most likely have quite a few before pictures of the mk2... i was thinking of not posting any pics at all untill im done.. but i wont torture you all like that =P

Dude, that's a LOT of HP for an NA. A 7MGTE with literally just exhaust would fall into that range, cost way way way less and be just as reliable if you don't cut corners. You could even get a quiet exhaust and still fall into that range with no trouble. You might be able to get that out of a 2JZGE fairly easily, I don't know so I wont say anything either way, but that's too much to ask out of a 7MGE, IMO.

This is my dads 6mge 1985 celica GTS with nice rims, tires, swaybars front and rear, lowering springs, some kind of performance shock.. stock paint.. (project)
Was formerly a 22re bored .1 over.. with cam, forged pistons, etc... seized on first test drive, now persuing a 6mge swap.

Im going to work on the supra tomorow... im cleaning interior out and swapping the doors, dash, and putting on NEW tires onto a set of original mk2 rims, and maybee removing the 5m.. as well as putting in the seats.

Holy shit I've never seen a supra smashed so badly, that poor guy who was driving it :(

So you're planning on using that 7M? Theres gotta be some damage to it if it's visible inside the cabin...

Sweet little project you are undertaking, Good luck with it. One question though, Why would you go through all the trouble of swapping in a 2j into the 7m if you are not going GTE. To me it would make sense to leave the 7m intact give it to your wife and then drop a 2jz-gte into the MKII.

ahh more pics.. changed wheels today and got the last crap fender off... my progress was immediately halted due to shitty weather... i was pissed cuz i wanted to at least vacuum it out and start the interior, and roll up the windows... shit. maybee tomorow.

it looks alot better just with decent wheels and new tires (tires were bought new, and just sat on the other celica)

Rusty hatch.. but owell.

but HOLY hell the rear hatch shocks have so much life on them, its scary! i have to push down with my superryan strength to get it down... i wish it was like that on my mk3 hood.

REAL progress pics coming soon.. as soon as i get decent damn weather!
