LSD / limited slip differential questions.....

my car has a very low toned rotating vibrational sound you can hear when driving and it gets gradually louder as you drive faster.... it almost sounds like a pulsating sound.... very low tone of sound, maybe in the 20-45Hz range.

i'm also experiencing weird shifting behavior from my auto tranny.... could the tranny act up based on a poor LSD?

i'm not sure, i'll have to drive it when i get it back from the shop to make sure... you mean let off the gas and see if it gets louder? i think its about the same either way.

Sounds like bad pinion bearings to me.

everything down there is original except the tranny/speedo cable, and the car has about 200,000 mi on the frame, so same goes with the LSD, driveshaft, etc.

forgive my lack of understanding, are those the same as the driveshaft bearings? are the pinion bearings inside the LSD unit?

would bad pinion bearings cause performance issues with the automatic transmissions?

B2: They're the Input Bearings behind the tailshaft flange in the front of the Diff.

They shouldn't affect the trans though.
