I took out the supra on two differnt days and I had to het it warm up or it would stall out. it would start right back up, but at times the ilde would be low like around 500 . I did had off my instrument cluster off and the needles at one time so there's a chance that I didnt put the needles back on 100 % acurate,. when things are fine it idles at about 800 to 900

So ,, If I would start it and stab the gas, it would rev and then dip down about 500 and stall . sometimes it woiuld dip down to 500 and slowly work its way up, thinking it would be fine, I would give it gas and after taking my foot off the gas, it would goo back down and mostly stalll.
After close to about 10 minutes woulkd go by , and then it would be fine ????? whats up with that ?

ok, wait, let me ask this, what is is that i'm checking, ,

1. ISC
if there's a clicking after shutting the car down, ? and if its not clicking, what, judt replace it ?

I was looking at the link, and I hate to say this but looking at the pic on the link, I cant figure out where that is ...........???

2 TPS
same applies, where exactly is that,, I really cant tell ? but I might be able to figure it out since it looks like its near the T/B , so I need a OHM meter? DAM , I dont have one of them,, when I get one what exactlty do I check, and how, ,, etc?

find the upper part of your intake manifold, (where your throttle body is attached to) now, find the alternator. look between the alternator and the intake manifold, and to the left a little bit. that's the ISC. if it doesnt do the clicking after you turn the car off, it's probably fried. (however, if you clean it out really well, it might work again, i had luck doing that on my old N/A motor)

the TPS is mounted right on the side of the throttlebody that faces forward (toward the coil packs) basically you need to calibrate it. you use a feeler gauge to prop the throttle plate open, and make sure the resistence matches what the TSRM says it should. if the resistences are off, then loosen the set screws, and set it correctly, then re-tighten them.

Check the location of the TPS in the attached image.
And yes, you'll need an OHM meter.

With the ohm meter you can measure the resistance in the TPS. Do that according to the picture in the link posted bij Shaeff and myself.

no, it should do it regardless of how long it was running for. when you shut it off, it should go: clickclick clickclick clickclick . just like that. it lasts about 1.5 seconds.

If the TPS is not calibrated correctly wouldn't it throw a code? Or does it only throw a code if its just plane Dead?

Yes. It threw me a code when it wasn't calibrated correcty.
But... I have the supra for a year and the car was stalling all year long when idling, but it took the car a year to throw the code.
It threw the code right after i changed my faulty cps for an other one. :)

Changing the subject slightly I seem to have a problem starting my car. When it is cold I have to let it turn over for a while before it starts. It starts every time though, but it just cranks over for a long time. The car Idles fine no codes it just seems to start hard. I am going to try the fuel filter becuase I am sure the guy who I bought the car from never did it. I am just wondering if that is normal or TPS problem or what. Any ideas would be helpful.

I am pretty sure it is not my battery because it cranks over fine. Cold start injector, is there any way to test it? I am not familiar with them I just got the car. I guess I have some research to do.
