okay, so i've got a 7mgte in my 88 supra...been built very much so...with the stock bov startin to poop out, i was gettin about 11 lbs...well i got my bosch 110 in tonight...so i'm taking off the stock by-pass valve and there are 3 hoses connecting to it....well i run a hose to just the vacuum and to the turbo...well i ran it to recirculate and it sounded just like my stock bov(vrooooom ch-ch-ch-ch-ch)...but louder...so i disconnect the hose that runs to the intake(after the turbo), and i only boost to about 2-4 psi...but it has the BEST sound i have EVER heard...(vroooooom, PSHHH,ssssssssssrrrrr)...yea like that lol. but anyways, when i connect the other hose to recirculate, it boosts like normal, kind of. and another thing is that the hole that had a tube to the backside of the stock turbo, when i leave that open, it idles at 1250...when i cover it up, it idles at 1000. i dont know how confusing this sounds to you guys but one more thing, it DOES indeed idle kind of funny after i let it spool (whenever i run it w/ an open end)...so, question is...is there any way that i can safely run it to be vented and not recirculate and still run the same boost i had before? thanks in advanced guys. you've helped me out a lot!:icon_surp

safely, not gonna say yes. just did this on a dsm yesterday actually, the only real effect your gonna have is that the car is gonna run pretty rich, and will be the equivelent of having a decent size boost leek.

you did plug the disconnected hose going to accordian hose right?? do that.

its gonna fuck w/ your idle cus your cars gonna expect that air to be in the intake and when it dissaperas it wont know wtf is going on. your car will probably stall after reving it up high if you just let off of the gas completely. you can get away with doing this for a while but i truly dont know if it is totally SAFE in the long run.

yea...the idle is kind of weird...like, after i did it, to test it, i took it to..o, i dunno, like 5500rpms...and it was only at 4psi but u could hear it spooling louder than ever(losing alot of boost)...well after i left off the gas(its an AT), it just cut out for a split second(stalled), and then it was fine...and other times that i just let it spool a little bit...after i left off the gas, it will blow off and then the rpms will drop to 750 (normally drops to 1000-1100rpms)...but after it drops to 750rpm, it goes right back up to 1000.

also, my buddy told me that if i get a mid 90's Lexus SC400 AFM...and replace it w/ my stock one, this should allow everything to perform correctly...what do you know/have heard about this? let me know if u know anything, guys! i need solutions! thanks. -Jeff

A) Your source for the vacuum/boost [the smallest hose] is coming from somewhere after the throttle body right?

B)
so i disconnect the hose that runs to the intake(after the turbo),
You mean before the turbo, Correct?

C) No, the LEX AFM will not let you blow off to the atmosphere with out any problems. You need a MAFT in blow through mode of some other sort of electronics to balance out the sudden rich condition. That is if you want to do it properly.

If you want to try and short cut it. Some BOV's have enough adjustability that you can use them. But the Bosh does not. It is designed for recirculation and should be used that way.

Make sure you have all the directions of flow correct on it and make sure you vacuum/boost reference is good and post throttle body.
