Hey people, : (
I wake up this morning to move my car for alternate side to see that me and the wife are late. I rush got myself ready, the baby and wife. I decide i'm going to take her to work and I regret doing it. I took the first street quick right slow left and the car cuts hard from weight transfer, heavy ass car. When I went into the drift I looked around real quick and for myself and those around me I aimed for a tree. Thank God for Recaro baby seats and my calm nature we all left unharmed and strangley enough the supra only got a bent rim and popped ball joint. I know people reading this are thinking that's what you get for speeding yet I was only doing like 20-25. I cant stop crying cause I keep thinking of how worse it could have been and I only blame myself.

I'm going to qualify this by saying I don't know fuck or all about this... but:

Check all the suspension components, specifically out back (as that it's the back wheels that keep the rear end stable, right?). It would only make sense that if you had oversteer from a suspension problem, the back suspension is to blame, right?

Check the sway bar connections, sway bar itself (for damage), traction bars (might be bent, putting other things out of alignment), upper/lower arms, and all the bushings and such. The rear subframe may be loose on its mounts or worse, cracked. So check it over very carefully with a mirror; the crack can be out of sight. In all seriousness, if you can't find anything wrong at all, I would drop the subframe and inspect it out of the car.

If the ass end let go at 20-25mph with just a little flick, I wouldn't trust it in an emergency menuver to save your life. It could be just loose or missing subframe bolts allowing the rear tires to do funny things under load... or it could be something harder to find.

Good luck.

shit dude, fuck the car, just be glad you and your family are okay...

with that said, everything on the car can be replaced/fixed, and if worse comes to worse, you can always pick up a shell and transfer everything over...

I come from a land down under
An M70 has a LOT of mass in a small package and can bite if you're not 100% with it.

They get more stable with suspension mods and good bars, when I first got mine it terrified me to drive it fast on roads my 77 Lancer (Arrow) was a breeze to drive on by comparison.

yeah the 1J helped alot to pull off out of oncoming traffic. Took a quick look around it LOOKS like just a bent rim and turbo side piping. Tomorow my cousins bringing back my jack set and stands.

Keros I think somethings going on in the rear she seems to be losing traction alot more over the days but shes gonna sit for now all the bills coming in this week

MJSN1 she actually said can we get rid of these ugly things and put on some 5 spokes : )

RazoE yeah the car I could car less about thats why I aimed for the tree lol its just a toy

I remember my first slip. I had my mother riding with me and was going 45mph at a wide curve. when the car slipped i just went with it and started drifting then gained control again.
i had a big slap on the head after that.
