It's raining out, I have 225/50-16 Hankook K106's with good tread, and when I punch it in 3rd doing 65 MPH I lose traction. I must say, it is fun driving on the freeway and losing traction when I punch it. Yee Haw! :D

BTW, I've ordered 17x8's and 17x9's with Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3's. 245/40-17's up front and 275/40-17's in the rear.

The Goodyears will be great wet or dry. (I like them very much, so much, I have them on two of my cars..)

Great wet traction.
Inspired dry. (Not the most of any tire, but it's more than you can use on the street 99% of the time, and they are almost as good on wet pavement...)

They do get loud as they wear out however. I've got one last summer on the set I've run on my A8. About 12 thousand miles of use... And that's with some time on the car using my "winter" tire setup.. Michelin Pilot A/S tires on the stock 17" rims... The Goodyears are on 18's, and wider by another 10mm.

245 v/s the 235 winter rubber I'm on now.

The Supra has the GSD3's, and I will not likely go to anything else unless a new and better tire design/compound comes along. I don't do much driving in the rain in that car, so I might go to a full autocross tire next time around... It's tempting.

Yea, you need new tires...When I had my sawblades, I could break traction in 3rd...but now that I have my Kumho Ecsta Sport SPT 255/45R17's, I can't break traction in any gear other than 1st...and that's in the rain!

Car was making 500ish at the wheels but this was only just coming on boost so around the 250 mark (mine makes HUGE Tq numbers and this is what turns tires also have logs at 90mph in the dry spinning)

Which intake manifold were you running at the time?

try loosing tractions with 315's in 1,2, 3 gear. I miss mah cobra

I call bullshit on that for one reason, my good buddy has a cobra with 590 RWHP and he also has 315's and he can't spin his in third. It runs 11.28@128MPH

(unless you're speaking of loosing traction in the rain)

315s doesn't mean he has a good tire compound though. :)

And yes I did spin them in 3rd. while it wasnt tire smoking crazy style like 2nd gear, it would slide from side to side as I entered the freeway. fuuckin a I miss that car. overspun superchargers sound AMAZING.

i know what your all talking about, shit here in japan its the cold season right now, so im hitting full boost sooner then what im use to, maybe thats due to the fact that i just put an oversided intercooler on my skyline, but i keep loosing my rear end at about 140klicks on the sanyo in third gear..
