As I'm sure other Supra owners have felt at some point in time I'm losing intrest in the car. As I posted in other threads it's a bastard car made up of 4 different year cars and it does run and drive just got things I need to fix but don't have the money for right now. I'm thinking about trying to sell it in February but asking a rediculous amount more than what it is worth that way I can tell my wife I tried because she thinks it's a waste because it needs so much work. I have no place to keep it and will be dropping insurance on it also. Was thinking about putting some numbers on the doors and a few stickers along the bottom and a set of old race tires from a friend so if the police come say something about it I can just say it's a race car and start it for them to keep them off my back.

What keeps you die hard Supra guys intrested in your cars?

I keep my motivation by keeping one Supra completely stock, as it's much more reliable, and I am still driving a Supra every day.

the project car is the one constantly sitting, waiting for parts/motivation to get her up and running the way I want it to.

<- 1 DD 7MGTE powered MKIII and a wife.

She used to get upset about it until I showed her the real 'keep the Supra' vs 'buy a new sports car' costs (figuring MKIII vs 350z/IS250/RX8...). There were some real good fights about how I needed to sell the Supra and stop trying to daily a 'project car'... Nowadays she's telling me what it needs and yells at me if she thinks I'm cheaping out on a repair just to save a few bucks.

After 6 years/100k and only having to bum rides/borrow cars for ~10 weeks total (5 of which were within 1 month of ownership) she's gotten the hint that a turbo Supra can be a fun and reliable daily.

As for feeling bummed yourself you'll get over it. I always do after a) finally getting a shiny new part for it after being broke for a while or b) taking it for a good run up the highway.

Step 1: make it run and do as much preventative maintanence as you can

Step 2: Don't fuck with it again.

Then, buy another Supra to build to the tits. Either way, never leave yourself without wheels. If you can't afford to keep a 'project car', then get rid of it. Your health, roof over your head, and food on the table are more important than a hobby.

Well that's just it guys, I'm getting a truck in February and as Toby Keith calls it i live in a trailer hood so i don't have a place to keep it. I have been looking at Supras for sale and the current condition of mine i would be lucky to get 2 grand max for it so i don't really see a point in selling it. the other car is my wifes expedition which we have to take anytime we go anywhere being we have 4 kids. If i had the money to dump in to it it would not be a big deal. I want teh Supra to be what the car in my signature was to my dad and i growing up. it has sat for some time growing up when it was not in the budget to get fixed or make faster but he has had that car for 26 years. i don't want to sell the car and in a year or so when something good happens and kick myself in the ass because i got rid of it. i'll never do a 2J swap or go for some stupid high power with it. all i want out of it is a solid mid to low 12 second car then i'll work on making it look pretty. doesn;t seem to me like a far goal but i don't know. i get in it every morning hopeing it makes it to work then hopeing it makes it back home.
