ok guys i went to change the alt. the other day, and when i pulled it off i found 3 loose wires hanging behind where it mounts. one is brown and the other 2 are red and blue. they seem to run back into the wiring harness that runs across the valve covers. i dont have a camera right now but any ideas? also the oil return tube that runs from the valve covers to the pan was bent so far it was kinked. im going to have to get a new one i guess. its gotten so soft that it just kinks all the time when you bend it the least little bit.

Hmmm...thes only wires I know about there are for the three prong plug to the alternator, but they are different colors from what you described according to the TRSM.

I had mine break off flush with the plug when I had to get a new alternator...got a plug from Tubbie and spliced it in...all is well now.

I posted a pic and link to the TRSM diagram.

i looked at it again and actually the 2 wires are red/black and the other is red/blue and then theres the bigger brown one. the plug for the alt. is all good and i dont see anywhere it could have been cut from.
And as far as i can remember everything on the car works except for the interior light.

That's pretty odd there aren't many 3 wire electronics in that area. Perhaps the wires are aftermarket installed from the previous owner? All the VSV's in that area are 2 wire, the CSI is 2, TPS is 4, ISC is 5, AC is 1, reverse is 2, abs speed sensor is 2, alternator is two sets of 1 wire each, all the injectors are 2 each.
