Loose wire found and broken wire on alt.

I found a brown wire that I dont know where it goes. I dont remember seeing it before. I took 2 pics. 1 is the wire laying accross the fender. 2 is where it goes into the firewall by the clutch fluid. can anyone tell me where this goes and what it does.

I also found a broken wire on the plug on the back of the alternator. My battery is fine and everything is working. thats the 2nd pic.

its Brake not break and that's the master cylinder for the clutch bro. The "loose wire" is suppose to go in that loom running into the black box and is suppose to go back into the firewall

OOPS.,. My bad (fixed it) I was thinking CLUTCH but typed break... :biglaugh: I was working on my fathers automatic 89 turbo this morning and was looking for the wire on his car... Its not on his car so I am more confused... do you know what it is for? or where I need to connect it?

I'll bet your battery light does not come on when you put the key in and turn it to on - yellow-green wire - http://www.cygnusx1.net/supra/library/Wiring/pages/Page_042.html

Don't know just yet about the brown one.

If PorterzSupra is right, that the brown wire goes into the black box, (which I think is the diagnostic box), then I'll take a guess, and think it may be the E1 terminal wire. (Ground). IIRC, that wire is brown on the 87's. But this is just a guess. U can verify it by pulling the box, and looking at E1, and see if there is a wire attached to the terminal. HTH.
