looking for a good deal on a A340 or r154 swap

Im down here in lonely old Corvallis and Im looking for either a solid Automatic or everything I need for a 5spd swap. I expect to be pushing close to 400hp here real soon and my auto is getting sloppy as it is. Im afraid it wont take a whole lot of abuse at this point.

If anyone has a line on these parts in the NW area (I dont want to deal with interstate shipping) can ya please let me know? Oh yeah, and my budget is limited so I kinda need to find a "deal"....thanks

finished putting together the gear stack on my spare. if you feel like doing the work on rebuilding the one that went all fucked to hell, you can. or you can have the housings, whatever.

I also have a random torque converter just laying around.... hrmm

yo man, ive got an r154 here that ive been using. had another one lying around and got it rebuilt. so now i have this one that ive been using, grinds from 1st to second and a little bit from second to third when hard and medium shifting.
i could sell it to ya if you want to do a rebuild on it.

Thanks Loki but Im really trying to avoid that. Im even sure that now that Tim is just finishing up his rebuild he could help me with it, I just done feel like dealing with it. I have uber limited time until Im on the road to TX and I cant deal with a rebuild. Worst case for me right now is that I shim what I got and go easy on it until I get through TX2K7 and then buy a replacement down there. I imagine it wouldnt be too hard to find in Houston.

yea once i figured out the interlocking pins, the thing flew back together. turns out i didn't need the ones i had to wait for, i had planned ahead and put them all in a baggy. I just forgot that I did that. Doh!

You might want to narrow that down to just an R154 5-speed swap needed!:icon_razz Just talk to UpgradedSupra (Duane) about A340's and high hp...it's a lose/lose proposition!:nono:

and yeah, I will eventually go 5 speed, this is kinda of a temp measure and I wont be pushing that much HP through it. probably no more than 325 or so. I dont plan on turning up the boost until I do a full rebuild

Well hell! thats the best offer Ive had all week! (yeah I know my life is boring) I'll come down and get that. Any particular day this week that you want an extra pair of hands for your own repairs? If that isnt for a little while I'll come get it tonight after I get back from Portland.
