Location of PPS computer in '89?

So, the '90 TSRM says that the proportional power steering computer is behind the dash, very close to the ABS computer.

However, close inspection does not find a box in there that it could be... or a set of plugs that match the diagram in the TSRM.

Anyone have access to an '89 manual? Anyone know off the top of their head where this might be?

I thought the electronic steering did not start until '91. My '89 just has the vacuum switch that lets the idle raise when moving the steering.

Look at your rack closer.

PPS started in 89.

Grim, does your car have a PPS rack?

Yes, I have the PPS rack. I just can't find the computer! I suspect that they moved it in '90...

Have you looked behind the passenger side kick panel? Right above the fuse/relay panel in there? That's where it looks like it is from the diagram to me.
