Ummm you can hear it very well in you video right at the 12secs, 15secs, 45secs, 1:15mins, 1:22mins its the the fluttering sound you get when you left off the gas during WOT to shift gears. Thats if you are still on the stock BPV which to me sounds like you are.

But i could be wrong and maybe you just have a different BOV :) I bet if you upgrade your BOV you will notice increase in boost pressure without any other changes because it might be leaking boost pressure also...... Just a thought

is the compressor surge bad? if it is where can i pick up a decent bov for a decent price. your right about me being on the stock bpv. how much psi can the stock bpv hold? that pull was at 10psi.

It doesn't sound horrible. It sounds like a mixture of the stock bpv and surge. Go look in the parts reviews if you want opinions and prices on an aftermarket bov. I went with the HKS SSQV, personally.

Compressor surge is bad thing and can shorten the lifespan of your turbo.

The stock BPV doesn't make a sound unless it is vented to the atmosphere. Its good for about 10psi but here is the problem .... How old is your stock BPV? Old enough to be replaced but its not worth replacing it with another stock BPV just get an aftermarket one. I am currently on a china knock HKS and I have no complaints!

From what I heard your surge was mostly in the low boost range. That happens because the boost pressure isnt enough to overcome a sticky or stubborn BOV/BPV. Changing his BPV for aftermarket (or replacement stock for that matter) wont increase his boost unless indeed the BPV is leaking which is pretty uncommon. Its more common that they dont vent properly do to a leaky diaphram or a sticky valve. This in turn adds to low boost surge.

The Bosch 103 is a good alternative to stock if you dont wanna vent to the atmosphere. It can be had from just about any parts store for around $30-50. I myself liked my HKS knockoff as well.

is there a adjuster screw for the spring tension? how much boost did you run with it? i'm really thinking about getting one.

There isnt an adjustment screw like some others. If you want to change how much boost it can withstand you have to change the spring inside (never done this myself, for me it was perfect out of the box). I ran 15-18 lbs on mine with a Greddy PROfec B spec II controller.
