So I was driving and this light right next to the Coolant Temp comes on. It looks like a bird cage with a bird on top. (Sorry that's what I see) '88,7MGE.

Any suggestions, cuz Its getting annoying.

It's actually a bank icon, because it's time to throw money at it..!!

as Ian mentioned, time to fill up the reservoir..

does it fill up on its own after a drive however? If so, you got stuff to start checking (bleeding system, possible over heating, etc)

Don't worry, everyone calls it the "bird cage" lol. If you just fill it to the "max" mark at cold it will still flash the low light when you're taking hard turns sometimes. I've got a couple tight roundabouts near my place that if I take all the way around for a U-turn it will usually come on.

If it started showing up suddenly, look for leaks and monitor for more coolant loss. It's not just disappearing in to never never land ;)

BHG Light "Bird Has Gone" ;)

Dammit Ian, you beat me to it...

I always thought of it as a cheap G-meter. If it comes on, you're approaching your tire's limits. Adjust fluid level to according to tire grip capacity. :D

The Temp was getting pretty HIGH up there. I looked at the coolant and it looked like mud. Apparently the previous owners prob haven't done a flush in the last 20 years.
