The cable is moving about 1" when i pull the lever in the drivers station however the hatch isn't releasing, is thier a way to adjust the cable?

there is a way.. from what i remember you have to climb in the hatch and remove the plastics panels where the latch is. once the latch is exposed, follow the cable to the end and there should be a small metal round thing welded to the wire. its either detached or the cable is stretched out. try pulling the cable to open the hatch or manually push (or pull). if the cable is stretched out, a little fix ive done is just attaching a zip tie at the end of the cable so that it moves the cables point of contact on the latch.
sorry if this isnt that clear but i havent even touched the latch in about 5 years, so i dont remember exactly what it looks like. ill check out the car tomorrow to see if im missing anything
