i was told by a few members here that i shouldnt have the safcii and a hks fcd. i was also told to get a lexus afm and 550 injectors. does everyone else agree with this as a fix to fuel cut. will i also need a bigger fuel pump? i've heard alot of people mention the walbro 255 as a good upgrade. where is the best place to get the above mentioned items? thanks.

Search and you'll be able to get details on everything (its been covered a million times). Lexus afm mod done right requires, fuel pump (walbro, etc.), 550's (rc, etc), lexus afm or suprasport afm, fuel regulator, safcII, and someone to properly tune it on a dyno. There are NO shortcuts here, so get it done right. You do not need a hks fcd or atleast should not have it untill everything previously listed has been done/installed.

Get a maft and GM maf sensor and that's it. $200 + $30-40 for the sensor and no more FCO.
I personally wouldn't run more than 14 psi with a stock fuel pump. and the stock injectors will top out above 375 whp or so. The maft allows you to tune like the SAFC, and can adjust for any size fuel injectors you ever wish to run. If you wan't to go one step further, get the MAFT-PRO which allows you to run a GM maf sensor, or convert to speed density, which is where there is no airflow sensor, it just reads manifold pressure and temperature.
That setup is closer to $500, and will require a bit more tuning.
The basic maft setup can be tuned to run like stock with nothing more than a voltmeter. If you already have an SAFC, you can sell it to pay for the maft or maftpro, or you can keep it. We run both and have had no problems.

Hope this helps, -Jake

This is everything you'll want to know about the lex/550 mod. The afpr and fuel pump are insurance.

As IHI-RHC7 said:
The maft is the successor to this. Very good results. Replaces afm with gm maf.

The maftpro is emerging as the most versatile / cost effective tuning unit available for the mkiii.

Note: 550 injectors, afpr and fuel pump can be used with the second and third option also.

I remember when I had my car on the dyno, the wideband reported even at maximum boost (before fuel cut), I was still running very rich
