so ive been reading till my eyes are sore and i dont fully understand this afm stuff, so if i go get a lexus afm i am supposed to use my 7mgte electronics??? and the only reason this is an upgrade is because it allows more air flow because the housing is bigger,

i found a thread similar to my question but some people were saying yes use the 7m electronics and others saying to use the lexus electronics, or are they the same thing.

thanks

The electronics in them are identicle to the stock ones, the housing is simply 25% bigger to allow more air through for the same value detected by the sensor.

Matched with 25% larger injectors (550cc's instead of the stock 440's) and it tricks the computer into allowing higher boost.

I just recently installed my Lexus replica from SupraSport.com, and 550's from RC. My car runs exactly as though I had not done the mod. But my car runs perfect anyway, so if you have a problem now, you will have a problem when you are done.

The lexus/550 mod was made to allow you to run higher boost WITHOUT tuning.

With tuning (first you need to have the ability with piggybacks or standalone + AFPR), anything can be made to work.

True, if your not a tuner, get the 550's.

Yes, Lexus + 550cc should be the formula of choice..

60-1, Lexus, 750's(got these for free or I would have 550's), aero fpr, apexi neo.

IMO, the Lex + the 550s is still a SAFER mix.

To me, the larger injectors was what I wanted, so that I could extend the amount of fuel delivered. The Lexus AFM makes it a no-brainer upgrade, and leaves any future upgrades from essentially a stock starting point.

just to make sure your question was answered... the electronics are identical on either AFM, so both are correct. Use the LEX electronics or the Supra electronics = same thing. Just make sure you test the electronics youre installing with an Ohmeter like the tsrm says... as long as it passes throw it on along with some 550's and youll be one happy booster until the speed bug bites again.
