So im wondering if this will work and so far ive concluded from my research that if the lexus afm can replace the NA maf it will work without upgrading injector size if i upgrade the fuel pump and get a afc or fpr. I am new to this so forgive me if im completely wrong. it would also be cool if you can help me figure out how this set up will work.

Seems a little rude to me.

If you wanna rock the na and dump all kinds of money to maybe hit 250 wheel thats cool. If not just go turbo.

didnt know there was such a thing as an air pump for the air intake...

The engine is the air pump. An additional air pump would be some sort of supercharger, such as the turbocharger type that Toyota has adopted.

You can, if you swap over to a GTE harness, and keep the car NA. Of course you'll run super super rich, and your car will belch out black smoke and eventually open up a gateway to hell..:D

Ok folks. The wiseass level in this thread is running at about a nine... Let's tone it back to about a six, ok? I know the question seems basic and obvious to most of us, but we all had to start somewhere. There's no problem with giving the OP a little shit for not doing his homework, but make sure that valid answer comes across as well. If he's asking a question this basic, he's probably not going to "get" your sarcasm.

---

To the OP, as already mentioned the two cars use completely different engine management systems. The NA version uses a flapper style Air Flow Meter that puts out a variable voltage signal. The Turbo car uses a Karmann-Vortex sensor that outputs a signal in kilohertz. The two systems are completely incompatible. (Neither system is a MAF btw...)

Also, as inferred above, dollar for dollar, trying to squeeze more power out of the NA engine is very expensive. There are few performance parts available for the NA that do very much, and in the end by spending a lot of money you might get close to what a stock turbo motor can do.

Your best bang for the buck is going to be an NA->T conversion or swapping completely over to a turbo setup.

thank you for the straight forward answer supracentral thats all i asked for. as for not doing my hw i searched but all that came up was turbo related which is why i wrote "if the lexus afm can replace the NA maf it will work without upgrading injector size if i upgrade the fuel pump and get a afc or fpr." i have no experience with turbos nor do i pretend to have any. so again forgive me for the noob question but you cant learn without asking or the proper resources and im trying to learn.
