I have the lexes afm on my car and it has an adjustment screw what does this do rich/lean??? if so which way does what thanks

OK well I'm trying to cure a rich problem which way do I turn the screw to Lean out a little bit??

If you have the 550's on your car along with the lex the a/f ratio should be close to stoic. You'll still need a piggy-back to fine tune your mixtue.
I doo have 550's and the lexes but my car runs horribly rich I'll be installing an safc soon but for now I was trying to mess with that screw to try and help itJustAnotherVictim said:

Is your AFM sensor actually working? The lex and 550's don't make it run rich by themselves. Find out what isn't working i.e. codes and work from there.
well here is the thing. w/ the 550cc + lexus afm it should run close to stock. problem is, stock is uber rich, esp 4500 rpm+.
with my 580cc injectors i ran w/ the screw all the way out. be advised, this is unmetered air, which is why it leans the mixture out. please dont just turn the screw all the way out from the get-go. im saying this as example purposes only. it will lean the entire mixture out and if you dont have the proper metering devices you can run into trouble in a hurry.
if you are planning on getting the afc soon, i would just leave it where it is and adjust it while on the dyno w/ a wideband. if you do already have a wideband, by all means you can adjust it to see how it behaves. but always do tuning in small steps.

Good call db, I didn't even think about how rich our cars run normally. It shouldn't be enough to be blowing smoke though, so go through your checks and see what you get then report back.
Thanks justanothervictim I just went outside and pulled my codes and it came back aif flow meter I guess if you want your car to run right you should make sure you have the right afm installed haha I had the lexes one on I threw my toyota afm back on and the car runs mint I feel stupid thanks again you guys rule

The sensors that come on the Lex afm's do work but the one you had might just have been bad. Good to see you found your problem.

Yea they do, but they will still work. It's basically the same thing. I'm using the one that came on my lex and it works perfectly since my original went bad.
yep they are the same part. the last digits are different since they are "updated" from being newer.
id say its a good chance the lex was bad from sitting out in the weather at the boneyard.
