hey guys, im lookin for a cheap turbo for a summer or 2 (READ: cheep and fast) and im lookin at either getting a ebay t3/t4 or a ebay t-70. the only thing is that i dont really kno what these turbos compare too. the t3/t4's iveseen are about the same size as a gt2871 but the wheel trim is alot bigger on the gt28 and the exhaust wheel is alot biggeron the t3/t4. im looking for something to make about 400 on untill i can save up for a gt35r.

so i started looking at the ebay t70's but all i can realy find on the is that they surge alot. im just wondering what the t3/t4's and t70's on ebay compare to so i kno what i should get.

spare me the reliability issues and any other opinions on anything other then performance of thse turbos. i understand u get what u pay for and all that.

so whos running a t3/t4 and a t70????

I've got an ebay T70 on my '88 Camaro, if that counts. Just pulled it apart, after what was it... like almost 20k miles? Still looks good inside :) I'm probably going to send it off to Jon to rebuild it with ball bearing internals, if he can ;) After I get a MAFT-Pro, anyway :D

Ebay special. I paid $275 shipped. I figured, what the hell. Started spooling (.84 A/R T3 footprint) around 3200, and held wonderfully up to 6000rpm, where I shifted.

so when would full spool come on in a supra, an 88 camaro is prolly either a 350 or a 305, unless u thre it on a 3800 v6 lol, but if it was a 5 liter comign on around 3200 then full spool would be like what 4 4.5k?

No build thread, but I really think the Master Power T70 is a nice turbo. (Yet to run it however, but the quality looks as good as anything I've had yet.)

Had, stock CT26, and ITS 60-1 bolt on with the BB option, and water cooled CHRA.

Just finishing up the manifold. (Again, it was not exactly what I wanted, so I'm welding and porting and it never ends...)

Should be mid 600's possible when this is all done.... Hope anyway.

I'd check out www.cheapturbo.com, you get what you pay for and I can attest to an "ebay special" turbo falling the hell apart. The seals went and you could turn the exhaust side and center housing like a door knob. P.O.S. in my opinion, but I'm sure its hit or miss. Maybe whoever was mass producing felt like working one day and made a good batch.. Who knows?
