Leather Seat covers / replacement on ebay JZA70?

My front leather seats are cracked. I came across this seller on ebay. My question is the title list the covers for 1987-1992 TOYOTA SUPRA JZA70

The covers look right but I was wondering if anyone could explain or clarify the jza70 seat covers part. My supra is not a jz. Are the seats the same on the ma70 and the jza70? Here is the link.

My seats are as the picture below.

The regular jza70 came with the same seats as all the american ma70's. Only the Jza70 tt-r came with recaros. Those seat covers will work just fine for you.

jz= jz motor, 1jz
a70= mkiii
ma70 and jza70= chasis codes
sw20, aw11= chasis codes on the mr2

you could have easily searched this info yourself

You should take a course in reading comprehension.

I am curious as well...

I was always worried that there might be some differences, because of the seat's orientation in a JDM car. Location of handles, knobs, etc. It may all be the same, but before tossing $$ out there, I would to see a side-by-side comparison of the seats.

Thanks for the tip. I had not considered they could be seat covers for a RHD vehicle.
I will email the seller with the above question and ask him for some swatches of Grey leather for a color match. I will let you all know what response I get.

Should not be an issue. The only thing I can see is if they are labelled the one labelled 'driver' would actually be your passenger etc. Other than that the seats are the same.

This is a little off topic but we are on jdm interiors...

Anybody know where to get a jdm mkiii passenger seat to replace my usdm drivers seat/boat anchor? Talk about a weight savings! Nobody but me drives my car so I never adjust mine, so the electric bs means nada.

I was gonna use a usdm passenger seat (and may still) but the tilt lever etc. would be on the wrong side.

Do a search using "supra seat" on ebay. They have those racing seats in there. There is a listing for some lightweight seats grey in color for a supra that look ok.
Here is the item number #150254108735

Well here is the rundown on the Ebay seat cover deal.

  • I contacted the seller and he would not provide me with a phone number.

  • I asked for some swatches and I got a photo that included seven different grays. Hard to pick the right one from a photo.

  • The buyer did confirm that the seat covers were for USA LHD cars.

Doesn't feel right for me.

I've seen the covers on ebay - I'm wanting to put a nicer seat in though for a tall person. Looking at a Lexus SC or Infiniti type seat and make it fit.

I went to many junkyards trying to get a mint seat and make it fit. All the leather seats are shot - BMW's, american cars like cadillac and ford w/ leather, Nissan, toyota etc all look the same. The mercedes seats are all beautiful. Even early 80's seats from a mercedes are not comfortable but the leather is in great shape. The leather on japanese and american seats is like a "laminate" on leather ( like rawhide). The leather on the mercedes is not a covered phony laminate. Thats why the supra seat "cracks" cause the "colored laminate" is cracking. Additionally the rawhide is really thin so in no time at all that cracks and foam is showing through. Same happens on the steering wheel of the supra.

I got in a brand new 08 porsche the other day and the seats felt very nice. Not like these leather seats in other cars. Haven't seen any porshes in the junkyard yet.

I don't know much about leather manufacturing tricks but if it comes from China its usually not quality oriented in my opinion so no ebay seat cover for me.

Generally get what you pay for in this world..

That being said, if these are Katskinz.. Then they are high quality.. (Or if they are who supplies those guys...)

Where is this seller located? If it's South America, it's a good chance the leather is excellent stuff. Also the Orient has started to really work on producing leather with no defects.. (It's how they raise and feed the cattle, as well as no barb wire or sharp points anywhere in the pens and fences..)

I have custom fit sheepskin covers, but only for the front, and they have lasted for decades.. (And two cars, a Mk2 and my Mk3... the seats are basicly the same..)

If I ever re-do my interior, and it's on the list of things to do.. This would be a good option v/s the Katskinz if the quality is acceptable.

Seller is located in Texas. From the buyers comments the covers seem to come from China.

Damn new ebay rules. They no longer show the buyers names with the item they purchased. Its hard to get a opinion that way. To many scams going on I guess.

My other question is the color. I asked for some swatches and he sent me a photo (see below). Hard to pick a match from a screen. Guess he doesn't have any merchandise on hand.

I would settle for custom fit seat covers for now if I could find some. Any hints?

That's common. Just because I buy a HKS product from Suprasport, that doesn't mean Suprasport physically has it in their warehouse. It might just be easier/cheaper for them to have it shipped directly from HKS to me.

Plus I don't think it's Katzkins stuff.

this is kinda off topic but the best leather i have ever seen, felt or smelled is in my girlfriends 95 mustang gt. Here car is very rare because it came with a factory red leather interior. The awesome thing about about her red leather is it is not made of cow hide the seats in the car are made of buffalo because of the fact it adsorbs the red dye much better then cow hide. I know this is way off topic but i think its cool because i don't know of any other car that has buffalo leather in it lol

I raise you and double down on off topic. I have a leather wallet. The unique thing about my wallet is that it is made from African Elephant. It has to be over 20 years old and it still looks fairly new. There is a stamp inside the wallet to prove it. No lie! I bought it at big name store. PETA ALERT!
