Leaking Oil from Turbo?

A friend of mine said he was leaking Oil from the turbo. What could be the cause of that ? He has a MKIII 89

Simple stuff: oil line gaskets, cracked oil line, loose nuts on oil line flanges.
Harder stuff: Blown turbo seals
