After searching for an affordable full color LCD dash display, I realize how stupid expensive they are so I started build my own LCD dash display a couple of months ago. Finally I got it finished. Here is how it looks:
Some specifications:
6 channels, RPM, Speed, gear, lap beacon, temp, pressure
8 Sequential LEDs for RPM indication, three whites, three blues, two reds
RPM, speed and lap beacon are digital channels, which read pulse signals
gear, temp and pressure are analog channels that take 0~5V analog signals
4.7'' x 3.7'' x 1.4''
Regarding the display interface, on top, it's a RPM strip, ranging from 0~10K. Then speed and gear, easy. LapBest and LapTime will be useful when on track, of course a lap beacon and receiver is needed for this function. On bottom, a temperature strip ranging from 100F to 220F, and the pressure(turbo boost or just oil pressure, depending on which signal you'd like to wire).
Right now I am working on wiring all signals to the display, hopefully it will work as expected. Any suggestion/feedback is welcomed
