So me and some friends bought tix to see Tool Sept. 11. We waited and waited and finally teh day came monday night. We took an extra friend and snuck him in to our seating. He had lawn seats in the back, we got him in and ALMOST got caught, funny shit there.
Maynard (lead singer) was sick so they didnt play The Pot and he barely sang in Schism. He didnt care though, AEnima, Stinkfist, Vicarious, Rosetta Stoned, he rocked out HARD. The stage was nuts, the fans were all loyal, most of em anyways. There was this one jackass, I couldnt believe he wasnt murdered right there on the spot... Maynard asked for a moment of silence for it being Sept 11th. One guy kept screaming... over and over, everyone else was silent... asshole
After that we sang happy birthday to Danny Carey (drummer)
When they played schism, he had a little extra solo at the end. They played the video on the screens while they played, then it started to flicker, then faster, all these images, then it was blazing fast, danny was drumming a beat to each image, over and over, fast as hell.
Anyways, if your wondering how my friend almost got caught. The staff saw there were 5 people, 4 seats, the lady checked 4 of us that had tix and didnt check our last friend, and passed him and checked the entire isle... we were safe HAHHA.
All in all, Ive been to ALOT of concerts, this being my first Tool one, I had a blast with my friends and I still think even right now, it was the best concert Ive seen.
