Hey guys newer to this forum here, lurked for quite some time, got lots of wicked info on this site and thought I might aswell make my own thread with some pics from the past/ info, and keep updating as I go.
So I bought the car about a year and a half ago. 88 red ma70 targa top LHD, 5 speed manual.
Came like this. Had a 7mgte with about 300,000km, BHG (surprise surprise), mint interior, body was about 7/10. Bought it with intentions of fixing up the headgasket and leaving as is, but that seemed awfully boring for a project car.
So out came the 7m about a week after owning it.
Decided to start working on the body of the car while I searched out a suitable motor to swap it with.
Discovered a shit ton of rust on the rear fenders. Tried fixing It up and wasn't so pleased with the outcome, so went with plan B. Cut them out and install some Carbon fiber flares.
Also decided to go with the 89+ spoiler + tailights, and kept the 88 front bumper. Always been more to my liking.
For suspension at the moment I'm running jic Magic coilovers, and A1 control arms for the rear.
Seeing how I don't have any connections for paint, I decided on going with a vinyl wrap. Buddy of mine installs it professionally so had him do my car.
Here's the outcome
Body work was coming along well, ordered in some 89+ mouldings from Dubai.
Then grabbed myself a 1jz, tore it down, cleaned everything up, head sent off to be checked out, new rings, bearings & gaskets throughout.
Pieces her all together and now she looks something like this
So yeah that's my intro, I'll try to keep her updated and maybe actually get this car to move this year.
