Kumho Ecsta SPT tire size

i know the stock tire size for the supra is 225/50-16. would i regret getting 225/45-16's? would the tires feel more sloppy?

Nope they'll be tighter as they'll have a shorter sidewall but you'll change your gearing about 4% and your speedo will show this error 60mph road speed will = 57.9mph on the speedo.

but since the overall length of the tire from rimside to rimside is the same (225) wont the shorter sidewall force a larger contact patch and therefore run the shoulder of the tire slightly outward?

go 245/50-16's way more meat on the ground and air pressure makes the little bit more sidewall a non-issue.
