i will post a sound clip up later but it is more of a constant knock than a tap, i used the automotive stethescope(sp?) and the noise if for sure coming from there and when i rev it higher it is faster but not nearly as loud? so what could be knocking back there or is it how a normal 7m sounds?

hmm have you pulled off the upper front timing cover?
It may be somthing in there hitting your timing belt... unlikely I think but quick to look into.
If your sure that it is coming form your head area prolly a valve.

no the sound isnt really coming from the valve covers or the head, but from behind the timing cover, i will pull it off as soon as i get a day off, i know that motors dont idle completely silently so im sure some of it is just me having owners ear where everything bothers me....
