In the process of changing my starter out last night I accidentally broke the knock sensor connector that is closest to the starter. Of course it's running slow and throwing a code. I've tried searching but all the post are about just the code 52. So do I need to get a whole new knock sensor and connector or is it possible to just switch out connectors since I've already rewired it with thick wire. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Depends on what you broke.

If the connecter on the wiring harness is the only problem, pick up a new one from Dr. Tweak.

If you've broken the connector on the sensor, you'll need to replace it too.

If you just need a new connector for the wiring harness, you can get one at your local Toyota dealer for about $7. It's P/N: 82219-89103

Champion told me that they no longer stock connector for our harness. I bought what I needed recently from DrTweak. I also believe I may have a knock sensor housing, but I'd have to check.

TooStand currently has 2 different auctions on ebay for 1 knock sensor each, starting at $19. I'm not sure when they close, but I saw them yesterday.

From what I saw last night it just looked like the connector on the wiring harness but I haven't had a chance to look in the day light. I will do that as soon as I can. I appreciate all the help from you guys. Hopefully Toyota will have one if that's the case. We'll see.. I'll let everyone know how it goes. Thanks for the part number by the way!

Well, after having time to further look at it. It turns out it was the sensor in itself. I just ordered a used one for $36.00 so hopefully it works like it should ha ha. I'll let everyone know how it goes once I put it on.

Got the knock sensor in today and it's all fixed thank goodness! No more code 52 making my car all slow. For those that don't already know: if you're changing your starter watch out for that sensor! Very easy to break. Thanks for all the help guys
