Hey again guys....

I am gathering some info on knife edging the crank in my new motor build....

I am going for the 6m crank

1. its lighter and can be balanced....the 7m crank is just to heavy.

Has anyone had their 6m ( or even a 7m ) crank balanced and knife edged?

I have yet to read anything reguarding that type of modification to the 7m on this forum.....kind of hush hush or something?

chime in guys....we need to have some thread pertaining to this topic!

not hush hush.... just that no one has done it.. i know of two people that have. On is adjuster and the other person.. can't remember thier ID. :)

it cuts rotating mass down more. Somewhere by about 5 lbs though. Not alot but those little bits here and there...and you start geting ALOT :)

5lbs of rotating mass would be like a lightend flywheel ( which i have) and you could INSTANTLY tell it revved quicker and smoother!

Looks like something I will do with the new motor.

keep in mind that the rotating mass of just the crank is nowhere near the size of a flywheel :) so it will help but not like a flywheel does.
