I read the TT upgrade thread and although it does not make much sense to me why I would go Single Turbo after spending hella money to put a TT in my car...I read something about a Split flange GT 35R set up T4 DBB. I was wondering if anybody knew what kind of power this would produce and how much $. I want it to be bolt on. throw me some options PLZ. 350-400WHP is what my goals are.

My 7M was beat to shit...Badly. So instead of a bone stock rebuild for 3K I went with !JZ front clip for 4K. I just was under the impression was better than one. but I wanna be faster

Two is not better than one simply because there are two of them.

Upgrading to a new aftermarket turbo is much better than the stock twins.

I'm still on the twins myself and I'm not a tuner or anything, so IDK if I could be recommending a turbo that I don't have experience with. Just passing along some research to help you out. Here's a thread with dyno sheets and setups from people who have upgraded. Just for reference... There's other single turbo 1Js out there, but this was the quickest for me to find and has alot of info in one place.

Bolt on for easy 400whp 1JZ on 93 octane?

Remove twins (bolts off)
Install turbo manifold
Install oil lines
Install turbo (60 to 65mm NON EBAY kind)
Install FMIC and lines
Install JDM 440cc injectors
Wire in SAFC2.

Done. Enjoy 20-25mpg daily driving with the A/C on, and 400whp on mild boost levels.

With more fuel and a better piggy back, youll be capable of around 500-550whp with a 60mm, and upwards of 650 on a 65mm

dont be another ebay turbo fool. You hear of those ppl saying they got a 60mm turbo, and blah blah tons of lag dont go BIG turbo. All a bunch of crap.

I run a precision turbo GT40-88 non BB... bone stock 1JZ except 550s and SAFC2. Im full boost by 4000rpms in 1st gear with a .86 exhaust A/R.

Get a good turbo, like an SP61, and youll be doing 400whp and full spool just as quick as the twins could.

You really dont have to worry about lag on a 1JZ til you get into the 72+mm territory. Honestly a GT4067R is all around one of the best turbos ever made for street use
