on my way home in the Xterra to make dinner and chill for a bit, and i'm on Pa rt 837 just past kennywood park, about 5 min from my house, when I pull up to the light and find myself parralle to a brownish looking supra., it was kinda beet up an all but still. I beep at the dude and as he looked over I give him the unversal hand motion to "LYTMUP" LOL and he appeared to shrug me off since there was a pair of cars infront on us, .,,, but to my amazement, he power stopped it for a few seconds,,, too cool I thought....,
aferwards I motioned him to roll down the window, dude could have been in his late / mid 30's, , maybe even in his earliey 30's like me, but if so, dam the man had a ruff life, so he even could have been in his 40's,

anyway, I asked if it was a 87, and he said yea,
I then told him I had a 90, , and that was pretty much the end of it, since the light turned green,
, and I was like hell yea....

but I would really like to know, since I was never able to do it, either cause I lak the power or cause I just dont know, ,,, but how the fuk do i do wanna those power stop burn outs ? best of my car skillz, I would have to rev the gas and just pop the clutch,,,,,
so eventually I would start to go.. t

this dude had them fronts locked up and the backs were a spinning,, a beautiful thing,,, I am 99.9 % sure his shit was stock, espeacially since he didnt look like the import type.........

he probably had an auto...

and unless you're making more power than stock, you will eventually start to move forward without getting on the brake.

but if you dump the clutch at a high enough rpm....you will sit still for a bit..just be sure you don't bounce of the rev limiter...feather the gas as you go.

You use heel-toe to operate the break and gas at the same time.

Push the brake down just past the point where you’re not going to roll.
Give it the necessary gas (Romp on it!) and release the clutch.

The car will try to lurch forward so push on the break just enough to keep it from moving. Remember, the front brakes are stronger than the rear, so you need to give it just enough brake pressure to keep the car from moving, but not so much that the engine can't overcome the rears. It's a balancing act.

Once you've "LYTMUP" adjust the gas pedal to keep the tires spinning but also keep the engine from bouncing off the rev limiter. Remember you're doing this from one foot so it really is a balancing act. It takes practice to get good at it and to know where all the balance points are. Advice, find a deserted parking lot and practice a little.

^ I believe that would be "One finger on each hand, pointed toward eachother, turning in a spinning motion" :)

Haha I gave the LYTMUP sign to a friend in his IROC and he took it as BRNMOFF cuz I couldn't see where I was going by the time the light turned green.
Auto def ftw for burnouts...but if you're 5spd I like to give alittle brake with my toe, and rev to about 3,000 while dumping the clutch, then move your left foot over to the brake and your right foot to the gas...Not enough brake and you'll move forward, but too much and it will lock the back wheels as well=stall. But stalling a few times while learning is better than bouncing off the rev limiter.

Auto not FTW! It takes little or no skill to LYTMUP in an auto. What fun is that?
Doing it in a manual is way more fun. So, manual FTW :D

Agreed more fun, 2nd and 3rd gear tire smoke is fun, but LYTinMUP is easier with auto.

Good story Will.
The rest... useless.

With half of your right foot on the brake, roll the ankle to the gas to depress accelerator pedal while removing left foot from clutch, all the while holding adequate pressure to the brake (middle) pedal with your right foot, and also operating the accelerator (right) pedal with your right foot as well, modulating the pressure on the pedal to keep the engine revolutions at a happy place.

uuhh... huhhh huhhuhuhuhhhuhuhhh. mamilary. {/butt-head}
