Its alot easier to put a kill switch on a component that doesn't require that type of heavy duty parts. Like the fuel pump and you can still have it hidden well. Besides, doesn't a car run for a little bit from the battery if the alt isn't working, that still may provide enough time for them to get far enough away to strip your car. With no fuel, they won't be going anywhere. My two cents.

I beleive he is wondering what the general rules for racing organizations are relating to kill switches. I don't think he is installing the switches as an anti-theft measure.

I would suggest reading what the SCCA says about the kill switches.

i don't have an antenna anymore. i was thinking to leave the hole rather then fill it in, and put a switch threaded to an antenna mount that cuts power to the battery. then when i want to drive around normally, i just thread the switch out and put a cover over the hole.

would this be a wise idea cutting power to the whole car via the battery? or is it better to cut the ignition like nashman is going to do?

I do not know for sure but I beleive SCCA rules state that for a rear mounted battery you must have a visible and accessible kill switch directly switched with the battery. I can not see it hurting anything, I mean accessories would have the memory reset such as the clock.

well i fainlky found out a borrowed my friends book the rules say battie if moved form the stock locatioin this mean any where

there has to be kill switch the switch has to be mark for on and off

has to kill the car witch mean you can't just cut the battie cause the car will still run thanks to the alt

now the ruels say you have to kill the power wire on the alt now what suck is the alt is 85 amps this cna not be done with normal relay in less you run like 6 of them witch whould be mess and ugly

so i had to pay up and i bought 85 amp silnod thous fuckers are exp 85 buck's

oh well at lest my car will meet the rules i hid the sidle under my upper rad support so it can not be sean but easy to get at

and plus my alt has bena moved tot eh trubo side away way so ti work out great

and the good new is i thnk my car will be done by the end of this mouth :D
