not sure it has one bud. I know my 700R4 corvette trans had one, and my 3.8 Buick. but i haven't seen one on our 90T. I think it's controlled by the ECU electronically, that's why we have the ECT performance button or whatever.

hate to thread jack but has anyone tightened the kickdown cable from the top up by the engine instead of shortening on wot from inside the valve body??

if you have, what did you use to shorten the top end to make it tighter?

Do you mean outside the realm of normal adjustment? There's a small lead ball pressed on the cable near the top that when properly adjusted will rest at the end of the cable's sleeve. Is that what you're talking about?

If you can't seem to adjust the cable to get the lead ballin the correct location, there's a strong chance that the end piece has slipped, meaning you'll need a new cable ($120ish).

I think he's refering to tightening the cable beyond specs to effectively increase the line pressure.

I'm talking in the realm of increasing the stock pressure within the tranny via the cable and setting it on a tighter setting so a higher pressure will run constantly.

i have seen that people will tighten the cable from the valve body end of the cable but i havent seen anyone tighten it from the top so that the valve body runs a higher pressure. I did the shim mod in that link but i didnt tighten down the kick down cable because i wasnt sure about its effects. Now that it is all sealed up i dont want to drop the pan again and have to refill 6 quarts worth of $10 a bottle royal P.

I see. I had just adjusted the cable as per the TRSM. I don't see what difference it would make if you tightened it at the top, both methods are basically increasing the tension on the cable....

There might be an issue, but I not imagining one at this point.
