Well, I finally got around to getting my hands on a donor car. I got a 92 SC400 over the weekend for $1000 and I couldn't be happier.
I'll keep this post updated as I go, although it will be slow at times. I'll also give some of the reasons for the decisions I make during the swap for the people that may want to do this swap in the future.
I went with an SC400 because it has a rear sump pan & pickup, and the exhaust manifolds are a little more Supra friendly as far as space goes.
Today I get to go put the driveshaft back in it and run it around my dad's yard for a little bit to double check the shift points on the trans, as I did not have adequate space to do it yesterday. I'll let you guys know how it goes.
8/4/08 - So I got around to breaking the 1UZ down over the weekend. The entire motor was covered with 1/4 inch of sludge internally, but nothing important was damaged. The cam saddles look new, and other than alot of old oil caked on, I think she's gonna be ok w/ a rebuild. The other good thing is that after 16 years and 185,000 miles the cylinders still show a nice crosshatch (one of the pics kinda shows it). I went on and ordered an adapter plate from Phil Bradshaw (you will deal with him in one way or another if you ever want to do this swap). My logic is, it will be cake to fab mounts with just the trans mated to the bare block installed in the car.

Not a whole lot of progress. I made a critical error and ruined the old block, but i'm not too heartbreoken. That motor was becoming a pain in the ass due to the "cleanliness" issues that it had. I found a replacement motor last weekend that i don't have to rebuild, and got it for next to nothing. Flywheel should be here soon, and I will be test fitting my dummy engine in the next 2 weeks for mount design.
