Im about to buy another 89 mkiii and i need you guys's input. I cant decide if would be best swap my motor into this new shell or just keep the original 90 shell that it came in. I have no knowledge on this shell problem wise and would hate to swap it motor in and it backfire on me. The reason for me wanting to change shells is because my car has a few problems like: some interior lights dont work, ebrake dosent work, seats are shitty, paint, air bag, and a few other things.. The shell that i am going to buy has fairly good paint, and great interior, but the electrical wise i cant tell if everything works is their any way to test it before swapping? and since the wiring harnesses are diffrent will everything still hook up alright? or should i just swap the things that work from the new shell to the original?

sorry for the length but i cant make up my mind, i will probably be editing this as i feel necessary

If your car is an 89 and the shell is a 90 you'll be fine as the harnesses are gray.. Is it a turbo model supra though? If the new shell is incer Id go with it.. part your car and be done with it.

If it were me I would fix problems with the current shell. You already said you don't know what underlying problems there may be with the other one.

All grey plugged harnesses are not the same!!!!! Take the 89 to 90 difference referenced here. The 90 has an air bag, where the 89 does not. I had to convert my 89 harness to work in my 92, as 6 housings did not match the body. Many wires had to be moved from one plug to another, and I have no air bag wiring.

My advise is whatever you chose, use a harness that matches the car.
