I was standing around yesterday and noticed that my front rotors are vented. Yes I know what drilled and slotted rotors are but mine aren't like that. They are vented right were the disc meets the hub part of the rotor.

Im just curious, never heard of or seen any supra's w/ these. Im assuming its a JZA70 thing or maybe UK or so. The car was imported into Canada so I know they use UK spec parts I think:1zhelp: Has anyone seen or know what im talking about?

Yeah, i've just never seen it before. When its time to get new rotors I know your local parts store isn't gonna have them. Im just curious to know what year cars came w/ them etc.

All A70 rotors are vented. Only the MK1 and MK2 had non-vented rotors, and only in the rear. Most cars have at least vented rotors on the front, except for cars like Tercels, lol.

He isn't talking about the veins in the rotor. It is vented between the hub and the actual rotor, as well as between the two braking surfaces.

I haven't noticed that either yet, but the only car I've paid attention to is the one I drive...which isn't even driving right now :icon_razz

On the other hand, my car isn an

87, probably one reason
non-sports pkg
no abs
non-turbo

All reasons why even if it was offered my year why I wouldn't have it anyways.

Yep, allows it to suck in air from the front instead of the back (though we have vents in the back of the dust sheilds to try and pump air to the rotor)
