Okay so heres my problem. My turbo was set to 18psi, Now it wont even make it to 3PSI as of today. Cant hear the blow of valve at all and the turbo isnt making any noise, no smells or smoke. Its as if it happend gradually somehow. cause yesterday it was going to 5 PSI and i could barely feel the turbo kick in for a quick second then it stopped. now its not hitting at all. Im thinking maybe a boost leak? Any tips on how to find a boost leak? because it sounds fine when its just sitting and i have it running while i look under the hood. So i dont know how i can find the leak.

Dang. well then I have no clue what it could be. Sometimes if i pedal to the metal it itll get to above 5psi and let out the faintist super quick hiss. Like i cant hear it spool down at all. It use to go woooosh cush cush cush cush when i shifted gears hahahahha. Now nothing :(

CT26 yes. Bored out and rebuilt not too long ago. And yes i did look at the turbo. It looks the same as it did when i got it. No leaks that i can see. The piping is snug.

drop your exhaust off and try it again. sounds like the exhaust is restricting the flow. i know it sounds crazy but my dads 89t wasnt spooling at all because the cats were very old and werent letting enough exhaust out, causing the turbo to not spool. or it could probably a wastegate stuck closed couldnt it?

Ill check. The exhaust thats on it now is straight pipe with no muffler and just the one baby cat. Idk where the wastegate is exactly.... :( this it my first turbo car. Is the wastegate by the turbo or is it that valve thats next to the intake manifold? If its the one by the intake manifold it looks after market.

I know the blow off valve is stock. I was planning on buying a new intercooler and piping with a new blow of valve. do you think if i did and installed all of that it would fix my turbo?

Im thinking its maybe the BOV as well. cause its not making any noise at all now. also now its a lot harder to shift gears its almost as if my clutch is going bad but i think its just cause the turbo isnt pulling the motor as much.

On a CT-26 it has an internal wastegate, the actuator is bolted to the bottom of the turbo. If that was stuck shut it would consistently build boost but if the actuator was bad it wouldn't allow you to build much boost because it would allow the wastegate flapper to stay part way open. If you want to test your blow off valve make a bov tester and test it to see when it starts leaking. If all your couplers for the intercooler are all tight and don't leak those are pretty much your only two culprits.

Okay ill check the BOV when i get off and take one of the shims off the wastegate to see if that helps by lowering the max Boost from 18 PSI.

Its my clutch. I took everything apart almost on my turbo. My clutch is fried! It takes like 10 seconds at 4.5k rpms for it to launch in first gear. Idk why this happend all of a sudden but now i know what the burning smell was that kept smelling when i boosted. It was my clutch burning. Like my clutch is deeeeeaad. thank you guys for all your help though. I do still plan on getting intercooler piping and and intercooler aswell as a BOV. Sorry that i lead everyone in the wrong direction...

your clutch was slipping that bad and you never noticed it, did the engine rev easy when you were trying to get on it? and you could usually smell it burning too?

and if this is your first turbo? and you have it set at 18psi, what else do you have on the car?

The guy who had it before me had it set to 18PSI. My car just hit 151k miles and its original clutch. Idk how i couldnt tell thats the thing. its as if my clutch just died all of a sudden. I have silicone plug wires, platinium plugs, silicone vacuum hoses, 4 inch downpipe to the cat and straight pipe from the cat back, the differential out of a 92, Aparently a different AFM idk if its lexus, the motor was rebuilt not to long ago, gasket matched and all the oil galleys bored out from 1/16 inch to 1/8 inch so i use 20w 50 oil. New synchronizers in the transmission aparently. Idk Im taking the boost off of 18PSI cause im going to kill myself and or the car. Idk how my clutch just died like this.
