What would be the best motor for like autoX: 7m? 1jz? 2jz? 1.5jz??? I heard that the 1jz is very responsive and has very little lag. Well what about a 1.5jz with ct12s??? Lets see what yall have to say.

Wasn't being an ass just wondered, choice of platform would change things somewhat ;)
(I try NOT to assume when answering questions as what I think is logical rarely pans out here)

If it were me I'd go 2J with a small tight roller turbo just for the setNforget nature in a Mk3, it'd go all day long and never miss a beat.

Mk2 or earlier maybe a 1J with stock twins and let it breathe.

AutoX isn't a nice place for a 7M to live due to the fragility of the cooling and Oil systems and the potential for complete failure...

for auto-x?

Step 1: Sell Supra
Step 2: Buy Miata

/thread

Back to being serious, a BPU 7M has next to no lag anyway. Want to be fast in auto-x? Dump your money into making the engine reliable (oil system upgrades would be a big plug considering the g-forces) and then dump money into suspension.

The greatest car ever made a Camry. JK A70 is the platform. And well whatever motor I go with will get its cores dipped in a nice acid bath and get high quality parts.

Yep, basicly anything external to the engine (exhaust, downpipe, intake, intercooler, hard pipes, fuel system). Keep a BPU 7M over 3K in revs and it's insta-boost on a stock CT.

Hmm so I can rely on a 7m but what about the 1j/ 2j/ 1.5j??? Because I like the idea of ct12s on a 1.5jz.

well to build a reliable 7m follow this thread http://www.supramania.com/forums/showthread.php?109118-Race-Ready-7M

Otherwise a 1j or 2j would probably suit your needs stock or with just some minor oil and cooling mods. the 1j is a good engine but the 2j has so much more potential than the 1j.
What is the point of doing a 1.5jz? Ususally the only reason people do that is because they blow the 1j and can source a ge/gte shortblock for pretty cheap.^he beat me to it.
Really if you have the chance I would say 2j, It is really a great running powerful motor. (this coming from a 1j car owner...)
