Just moved to Orlando

I've been off the board for a while, but I'm finally in Orlando. The Supra ran great all the way down and got 26 MPG even with all my stuff(I barely had room to sit).

Hopefully I'll be online more now and should be making it out to some meets(UCF isn't too far from where I'm at). I still have to find a job and get settled in and used to the heat, but I have a feeling I may not leave FL even after I get out of school(UTI).

I actually moved in with my parents and haven't gotten that far with UTI yet, probably more of the late July time frame for me. If I were to get a roomate it would be my fiance moving down from TN.

I'd definately be up for a good Supra meet though. Chattanooga didn't really have a lot of modified cars, let alone Supras. I've already seen more decently modded cars in one day than I did for years in Chattanooga.

I'm on the opposite end of town. My parents place is in Oviedo. I'm sure I'll see you at a local meet though.

Good to know that I'm not the only Supra owner new to the area. I'm in the blue/blue(2-tone) 87 turbo with TN tags if anyone ever sees me out(normally have the targa off unless it's raining).

Anyone know if there are any meets in the works anytime soon? After I fix a few minor things I'll be ready to go(lower IC piping needs to be replaced, need some seat covers to cover up the ripped front seats...).

Update: I talked with UTI this morning and will be going down there May 9th(this Tuesday) to take a tour and start my paperwork.

I also fixed my IC piping(replaced a cracked lower pipe with a radiator hose from Autozone and just wrapped it with duct tape to keep it from flexing, and tightened up all the clamps).

hey bro, I just got back into town from a little vacation back home in pensacola. I'm not sure how many people show up during the summer, but UCF has a nice meet every wednesday on campus around 9pm or so. I'll be off of work next week, so i'll probably try to make it out to show off my new goodies! Where in oviedo are you? I live pretty much right across from the back side of ucf. I drive the red mk3 on gunmetal painted mkiv wheels. nice to have some more mk3 guys showing up. When eli get's here we'll have a good little crowd. later bro, Dan

I'm a couple blocks east of 419/434. I haven't really been getting out much(rather low on funds at the moment), so I don't know the area very well yet. I'm just happy I can find my way to and from UTI(off 528 by the airport).

As for the mk3, I won't really be doing anything to it for another year or two. I'm trying to move my fiance down here from Chattanooga before I start school(7/17), and we'll pretty much be struggling a bit until I graduate. But at least they let students use their shop so doing minor repairs won't drain the wallet too bad.

I actually start a job tomorrow night. It's just Papa John's, but I'm working on getting something better and it's still better than no job.

I'll definitely be trying to get out more once I start getting a paycheck to put some gas in the Supra.
