Hello every one my name is Al im from Albuquerque, NM and i have an 88 mkiii supra. I have been building and messing around with cars for awhile now i love it and think its the best and greatest thing in the world to build up carzy machines that fly down the road!!
My story: (its kinda long)
I have always wanted a supra either a mkiv or an mkiii i think theyre very sexy and potentionaly fast!!! So i was dating this girl 3 years ago and she blew her motor on her old school nissan 280z so her dad bought her a jdm motor and had it shipped over and when it came to his house he realized he didnt know anything about this kind of stuff. So i offerd to do the swap and get the car running and we would decide a price afterwards, i would never usually do this but she needed her car running so after 3 days i finished and her dad needed a few months to come up with the money to pay me so he let me look at his cars and said i could pick any one i like well he had a 300z non turbo and i didnt want it cause i done a jdm twin turbo swap in one of these before and it WAS HELL!!! so i said no thanks and he had another 300z twin turbo and i said how bout that one and he said no way thats mine lol understandable!!! and then he had some old small truck and i said no way!! about a week goes by he had a bbq at his house so we're all sitting in the back yard and i notice a car coverd by a trap so i went over pulled the trap off and there she was!!!!! an 88 mkiii turbo just sitting there!!!!!!!!!!! So i said hey how bout this one and sure enough heve signed the title over right then and there and just about PEED MY PANTS I WAS SOOOOO EXCITED!!!!!!
however it was sitting there for a reason it had the imfamouse blowen head gasket lol and was taken apart all the way down to the head and he gave up cause he didnt know how to take the head off!!! So he put all the parts that were on the side in the truck and i towed it form Avondale, AZ to my home here in Albuquerque where it sat for the past 2 and a half years!!!
So i have been restoring this car the past year and it will not start however cranks like a champ!! I take that back it started two days in a row and now will not start again. Here is everything that i have done.
parts list
255lph pump with 12volt conversion
machined head and decked block
HKS 3 piece steel head gasket (bead type)
HKS ssqv bov (2008 model)
arp head bolts
new water pump
timing belt and lower crank pully for timing blet
3" aluminum radiator
had to replace all freeze pulgs
and replace broken sensors
