Hi guys i just installed my intercooler and now my car is actually running slower believe it or not.

It only has about 5miles on it since i installed

So im not sure if its the ECU needed to learn or not im running the cheap knock off SQV that comes with the kit. its venting to the atmosphere.

Car wants to die sometimes after reving it up or putting in the clutch from higher rpms.

Sorry i don't really know much about all this any help helps alot thanks.

Only mods is Cone filter and this intercooler kit. And i did plug old blow off hole in Accordian hose.

Check for boost leaks

If the car was running perfect, you install something, now its sluggish, start with what YOU touched because something YOU did is effecting the car that was running fine before YOU touched it.....

Check all connections, make sure they are ALLLLL tight but have a good connection to begin with.

yeah seems to have lost power.

it was not running perfect be for my stock intercooler pipes/hoses were pretty messed up

i have gone over everything i just re-installed the 3000 pipe so i can run the stock bov it still doesn't seem to be running like it should its acting pretty slugish.

i'm not sure if this helps but be for my intake would flutter quite abit now it just seems to wooosh alot.

i do need to replace the vacuum hose the comes to the front medal line near the 3000 pipe other side goes the isc vavle i think. but everything seems to be okay.

when you vent to the atmosphere, which i am too. when u rev high and push in the clutch it will stall unless you give it gas, or when you just rev it up and let go, you get used to it for a while till you learn the tricks.
otherwise if you feel thats its slow, could be a boost leak

You know, I never had a "venting to atmosphere problem."

I had an HKS SSQV that was not rerouted and everytime I would rev and let it come back down, it did not stall at all.

I have no clue where this assumption came from. Keep in mind, all my values for the TPS and ISCV were all in spec according to the TSRM. It was also on a stock ECU with no piggyback.

If you are venting to atmosphere and stalling, you have other issues.

i vent to the atmosphere and removed the stock BOV and now have an HKS SSQV every once in a very very great while, ill be in like 4th gear and just throw the clutch in when coming to a stop and itll wanna die but thats it. Im going with you need to check for boost leaks, even the smallest one can make a world of difference.

well reving at a stand still wouldn't stall out all the time, im saying when your moving/driving and you take it over to lets say 5krpm and push in the clutch

Another kinda question may be stupid to some but I might as well ask. Do the I.c pipes have to be perfectly flush with each other in the coupler? Could that make a difference or is it OK as long as it seals?

Long as it seals doesnt matter. Clamp the clamps down tight. Double check your work, maybe a pipe could be twisted a tad to not be a angle to the next one.

Also is the cheap bov working properly?

Just because you don't have that problem doesn't mean its not a legitimate issue with other people.
Mine will fire out every once in a while. As for the original problem, I'd say it's a boost leak. Test it. (search is your friend)

Just recirculate your BOV, the tip is like $25..

Definitely make sure all clamps are tight and sealing, make sure your wastegate is working as it should, as your max PSI should go up on its own now that it can breathe easier..

As far as pipes go all bolted tight. It does feel like a vacuum leak. As far as bov goes I put my stock one back on and still have the problem my paid still is running right over the half mark on the stock boost gauge. Sometimes takes awhile to spool up

I never had stalling issues, im running the cheapo SSQV knockoff as well.. sometimes you hear the PSH sometimes you don't, i have great vacuum... when i first installed it the valve always opened after letting off the throttle.. NOw it feels like it doesn't open unless theres enough boost pressure because i can hear flutter. I guess heat messed with the spring?
