I had issues prior to the head gasket replace, setting code 31, dying when let off throttle all that is fixed, new afm. This cleared up all of my smoking issues, fuel fouled plugs and drivability.

Today after lettin the engine get up to operating temp setting the timing 10*, and checking all for leaks i found that it still smokes a bit? Doesnt smoke on start up or when idling, or when giving throttle, it only smokes when letting off.

I have inspected my turbo a few times, has some shaft play, more than i would like, saving up to get it rebuilt or replaced. Anyways can a bad turbo be causing this smoke? Remember it only does it when coming off throttle, around 3k.

The head was rebuilt prior to my purchase, never been broken in yet, so i would like to rule anything on the head, and not to mention it does not do it on start up as seals would show.

Well i got the car with a supposed bhg but had no signs at all. I drove it with the bad afm and it smoked quite a bit all through out the rpm range more so right after boost.

Ok so now the car smokes at idle, its kinda bluish but smells like fuel? Off idle the smoke is gone, but soon as you let off it smokes still any ideas? I thought maybe it was just burning all the shit out of the exhaust from my rebuild but after getting to temp it was still there? any ideas

Mine does that too. I think my valve seals are going on (2jzgte here), the blue is obviously oil. Some type of oil is burning, and probably through the turbo, or the valve seals. Pulling mine apart tomorrow.

*****UPDATE******

Drove the car runs great, no more smoke, think it was just shit in the exhaust. Some minor issues though:

Car overheated, might not have been purged of all the air and fans did not come on. it was gurgling but not spraying cool just steam? and no smoke or anything from exhaust. The temp gauge rose to about 3/4 then spiked to hot? can this be an air pocket? Let car cool down pulled cap still had coolant above cores on radiator and resevoir had no overfilled. Checked oil still good with no signs of coolant, no milkshake or overfill. The po had installed an electric fan which i am going to fix wiring on, but the two small ac fans did not come on with ac on or anything, they finally came on after car cooled off and i re started car with ac off? Oh and after cool down restarted and no steam in exhaust.

I have an aftermarket bov vented atmosphere, i know about the stalling which isnt an issue. I noticed that i am only boostin about 4lbs? Stock the 7mgte is 7 correct? well i am at the line in between 0 and 8. Is this a boost leak, or improper bov adjustment?
