Hello everyone,

I'm new to the site, but have been lurking for a bit (trying to pick up on some info before I jumped into a purchase). I just got a hold of a beautiful 1988 Supra Turbo w/ sport roof, loaded (TEMS, ABS, etc...), with only 58K miles on it last weekend down in Wilmington, NC! It's automatic, but with traffic up here as it is, that doesn't matter much to me. I had been browsing cars.com, autotrader, washington post and other sites/periodicals for several months and have checked out several cars in person (actually had a deposit on another before I actually saw it, long story...) and finally found one on Craigs List that seemed pretty nice. Fortunately, my parents live down in Wilmington (I live in Northern VA), so I had them check it out for me... They approved, so I put a deposit on it two weeks ago and had their mechanic check it out further... It came back nearly flawless, with only standard maintenance to perform, so I drove down this past weekend to pay for it and take it to my 'rents place! It's currently still down there; I decided to let their mechanic change the timing belt/water pump, flush the fluids and change a couple hoses (lower and upper radiator hoses were a bit dry rotted, along with the heater hose) because it saved around $500 from having all that done up here... So anyhow, I'm getting a ride down there this weekend to pick her up and bring her home!

Here are a few pics I took of her while I was down there:

Any comments are welcome! I've been a very active member in the Solara community (I just sold my 2004 Solara SE Sport V6, the black car beside the Supra), so now I hope to become a contributing member of Supra community as well.

Take care,

-James

PS--> Sorry the pics are a bit large.

Thank you for the greetings! It took around 3 months of steady looking to find the right one, but it was all worth while! I can't wait to pick it up this weekend, I'm sure it'll help me cope better with my decision to sell the Solara (my baby) :p. I'm sure I'll have lots of questions, but don't worry, I'll search first ;-)
