Hadn't seen or maybe didn't know where to look for some of the specific things that are associated with the MAF PRO install.

I just layed down the hard cold cash, or credit card in this case, on the Maf Pro and the LC 1 wide band from HPF, got one of those package deals.

What I need from the other Maf Pro'ers is some mkIII specific information:

1. Where are you guys putting the IAT sensor?
2. Where are you putting the vacuum source for MAP sensor?
3. Where are you physically mounting MAP sensor?
4. Are the 89+ guys having the HAC mod done in ECU?
5. Where are you buying the replacement accordian pipe?

That is all for now.
But I am sure there will be more questions.

Thanks

Wayne

good reads:

1. • if you have hard pipes, put the iat over near the washer fluid fill tube.

2. & 3. • tap into any of these vacuum hoses and mount it anywhere in that area.

4. • get about a 3"-4" long piece of 3" diameter tubing (http://www.globaltecheng.com/alutubing.htm) put it in the end of the accordion hose. then get a filter with a 3" mounting flange like these, or generic
K&N Air Filters:
RC-4290 3"FLG, 6"OD-B, 3-1/2"OD-T, 6"H $40.69
RR-3002 3"FLG, 6"B, 5-1/4"T, 5"H; BLUE TOP $56.95
RX-4990 3"FLG, 6"B, 5"T, 5-9/16"H $60.95

Wondwering what happens to the hose that goes to the ISC for idle control as well as for PVC. These hoses tap into the accordian hose, wondering if guys are "building" their own or is there is one out there that may not be SUPRA specific but in fact will still work. Just want to get everything lined out and ready.

Thanks

if running maf mode, you need the isc line between the throttlebody and maf. if in speed density you can either eliminate it or run a breather filter on it.
pcv line should still go into the intake for best results. most just go a different route and often add a catch can along the way.

I will be running speed density and was unaware that the ISC hose can be eliminated.

sure can, but be aware it will idle goofy when you first start it up. will need to get warm before the idle will be stable. you can always just cap it off and see if it works for you. if it acts too weird for you then you can add the filter.

why can't it just stay routed the way it is - to the accordion hose?

Man, I don't know?

My car's idle won't even dimple a glass of water sitting on the hood, hope I not screwing up a good thing, you know like your parents probably told you like mine did---Don't fix if its not broken, but notheing ventured, nothing gained.

Just thinking out loud. LOL

Anyway back on topic, I figured it would stay likew it is now after the maf pro install.

Is this everytime you start it up, or just the first time after the install?

yes you can leave the isc and hose as stock if youd like. i just try to clean things up as much as possible. rubber hoses and metal lines across the top of the motor just didnt do it for me if there was another way.
you can also attach a filter directly onto it or run a small hose out of the way somewhere and attach the filter there. or just elim it all together, just some side effects of that is all.
