i just baught a cressida that i am going to be using to drive back and forth from work while i rebuild the 7m in my 89 supra, it has a bad oil leak from the oil pan not being sealed right but it runs good for a car that is over 20 years old. i plan on either fixing the oil pan problem when i get back from iraq or have one of my friends take care of it for me, but what i really want to find out from you guys is should i purchase a 1j or a 2jzge and then turbo it. i was leaning more towards the 1j for ease of installation and it being force induced already but i was also looking at the 2jzge cause i liked the idea of having a 3 liter motor in the car and doing a ge-t swap would be cool also, i would like to get you guys input on all of this thanx

1jz never came in the x7 chassis so you might as well just go 2j if you are worried about displacement. also, in certain cases you can get a 2jz motorset for a little cheaper than a 1jz depending on what it came from and whether or not you mind auto transmission.

do you know which oil pan you'd need to use? that eliminates some of the choices quickly.

for me it would come down to availability over anything else.
