So i posted a few threads about me not being able to control my boost so this past thursday i took off the intake and checked every vacuum hose and every boost refrence lines and even made sure that the boost controller was set up right (GReddy Profec B V.1), everything was "A" o.k. So i then made sure the boost controller was getting proper power and even regrounded it. So then i was told to try a simple test and to bypass the boost controller solenoid box all together which i did, and it still acted the same would overboost and hit fuel cut like crazy. So now im thinking its my wastegate, but before i go off and spend $200 on a new GReddy P765 actuator i want to know is there anything else i should look for before i spend this money. Also would i be able to change the wastegate without removing the turbo?

Mods that relate to the turbo:
GReddy TD06H-20G (Came with car)
GReddy Type S BOV (Came with the car)
GReddy PRofec B V.1 (Came with the car)
Defi Boost Gauge (My vacuum at idle while in Park is about -16mmHg id say.)

Sigh
Thanks

Can you put 15psi of air to the turbo and see if the wastegate opens like it should. I used my air compressor and had to do this on my wife's turbo last year. I found out that the wastegate was opening properly, but it wasn't closing all the way, so our problems are a bit different.

If it's spiking with and without the boost controller then I would say your wastegate is stuck shut.

you can also test your boost controler with a air compressor to make sure it is sending pressure to your wastegate.

That turbo is internally gated, correct? If so, it should be setup quite similarly to stock, in which case, you shouldn't have to pull the turbo to change out the 'gate.
