Just a few problems

Ok so first I replaced the wiring harness with another, not brand new but in much better condition than my last. I took the throttle off and set it using a digital multimeter so the code 41 I was getting has not come back yet.

So I am now trying to set the timing correctly. I checked the alignment marks, good there, so when I follow the directions to put the cps it seems no matter how I do it the mark on the crank is always too far left or too far right. Say the spot where the 15-10-5-0 is but place the 0 where the 15 is or vice versa.

Also when I hold the pedal steady at 1500-2000 rpms the rpms will just drop then return and repeat. :aigo: It's starting to get to me but just looking to see what some other causes are.
Only code I get is 43 which is fine because I have a manual start switch set-up.

It seems like you are missing the correct CPS tooth and setting it either one too advanced or one too retarded. Have you tried adjusting the CPS while installed to try and get the right timing (10 degrees BTDC with the diagnostic block properly jumpered)?

you are rotating the CPS to line up the timing marks right? that RPM dropping thing is a problem my friends car had, IIRC he fixed it by adjusting the TPS.

which BTW, you need to have adjusted BEFORE you can set the timing. someone correct me if i am wrong.

I have tried to adjust it while it's running with it jumped, and it used to go far enough but it won't go into the area anymore.
In the tsrm it says when you put in the cps to align the middle of the flange with the adjusting bolt and when I do that it feels like it's hitting something and won't go in any farther so I have to rotate it slightly to get it to sit where it will insert all the way.

I set the TPS how it says in the tsrm so I'm hoping it's not that again.
